About Sheldon Henderson
For 30 years, Henderson has served in the separation science industry in a variety of sales, product marketing and analytical chemistry roles, with special emphasis on sample preparation, chromatography data systems (CDS), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), mass spectrometry, and LC/MS systems. Most recently, he served for 11 years as a Technical Sales Representative for Thermo Fisher Scientific in the Rocky Mountain region where he sold a wide array of chromatography and mass spec instruments for various applications across different industries. In addition to territory coverage, Henderson also worked closely with management of sales rep development programs and new account development programs. Previously, he was a Global Product Marketing Specialist for nine years with Dionex (prior to its acquisition by Thermo Fisher).
Earlier in his career, he worked for 12 years at two commercial environmental/analytical laboratories in Salt Lake City — American West Analytical Laboratory and DataChem Laboratories — in various supervisory, management and chemist roles. Henderson attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City where he received both a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science/Physical Education.
About Matthew Morse
Morse has over 22 years of extensive service and technical support expertise across dozens of analytical chemistry instruments and their related software packages, including liquid and ion chromatography systems, mass spectrometers, LC/MS, solvent extraction instrumentation, and CDS software. During his career, he has worked with clients around the globe.
Most recently Morse was Senior Manager, Global Technical Services, Instrument & Enterprise Services for Thermo Fisher Scientific, and he had been with Thermo Fisher / Dionex in the United States for 13 years in several technical support and services positions. Previously, he held different service positions with Dionex UK for over seven years and Sci-Tek Instruments for over two years. After moving to the United States in 2007, Morse was granted an Educational Equivalency of a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services branch of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
About the Axcend Focus LC
In their roles at Axcend, Morse and Henderson will primarily focus on marketing, sales, service and support of the Axcend Focus LC, the company’s first instrument for analytical chemists and separation scientists.
The Axcend Focus LC is a shoebox-sized, hand-portable, UV-Absorption-based HPLC that breaks the mold for traditional high-performance liquid chromatography systems. Even if used round-the-clock, the Axcend Focus LC consumes under 10 mL of solvents per week and produces roughly the same amount of waste, making it extremely low cost to operate and one of the most environmentally friendly and Green HPLCs on the planet.
In addition, because of its small size, low weight and ability to run off of battery power, the Axcend Focus LC can be used virtually anywhere: on a lab bench, inside a fume hood or glove box, and even in-the-field. The award-winning design of the Axcend Focus LC also makes it easy to integrate with mass spectrometers and autosamplers.
